Tulip Time goes Green
HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) – This year Tulip Time may not have as many flowers as in the past but organizers are proud that it will be using green technology. The festival has switched to electric and hybrid vehicles for one of its biggest parades.
The four electric car charging stations in downtown Holland will be part of the Tulip Time show next week.
“We’re the first in the country to convert a traditional parade from gas powered vehicles to hybrid,” says Gwen Auwerda, Executive Director of the Tulip Time Festival.
There will be several eco-friendly vehicles towing the floats during the Kinder Parade.
“All the vehicles that will tow our floats will either be all electric or hybrid,” says Auwerda.
